Ingredients
1 cup basmati rice (soaked for 20 mins)
1 tbsp oil or ghee
1 bay leaf, 2 cloves, 1 small cinnamon stick
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 onion (sliced)
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 cup mixed vegetables (carrot, beans, peas)
2 cups water
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnish
Directions
- Heat oil, add whole spices and cumin.
- Sauté onions until golden, then add ginger garlic paste.
- Add chopped vegetables and sauté 3–4 mins.
- Add soaked rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Cover and simmer until rice is cooked and fluffy.
- Garnish and serve hot.
