Juicy boneless fish marinated in spiced yogurt and grilled to smoky perfection—an irresistible starter for weekends and special meals.

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless fish cubes (seer fish / basa / tilapia)

  • ½ cup thick hung curd

  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tsp red chili powder

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • ½ tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp mustard oil or regular oil

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 capsicum (cubed)

  • 1 onion (cubed)

  • Skewers (optional)

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix curd, ginger-garlic paste, all spice powders, lemon juice, oil, and salt.
  • Add fish cubes, capsicum, and onion. Gently coat everything well.
  • Marinate for at least 20 minutes (up to 2 hours for best flavor).
  • Heat a grill pan or regular pan with a little oil.
  • Place fish and veggies and cook on medium flame, turning sides gently.
  • Cook until fish is golden and fully cooked (about 6–7 minutes per side).
  • For smoky flavor, briefly torch or place over open flame (optional).
  • Serve hot with mint chutney and lemon wedges.
