Spongy white cottage cheese balls soaked in light sugar syrup. A soft and juicy Bengali sweet.

Ingredients

  • 1 litre milk, 2 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 cup sugar, 4 cups water

  • Cardamom pods

Directions

  • Boil milk, curdle with lemon juice, and drain chenna.
  • Knead chenna and make smooth balls.
  • Boil sugar, water, and cardamom. Add balls.
  • Cook 15–20 mins. Let cool in syrup.
