A rich and smoky paneer curry made with grilled cottage cheese cubes simmered in a creamy tomato-based gravy.

Ingredients

  • For Paneer Tikka:
  • 250g paneer (cubed)

  • ½ cup thick curd

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • Salt to taste

  • For Gravy:
  • 2 onions (chopped)

  • 3 tomatoes (pureed)

  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • ½ cup fresh cream

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • ½ tsp cumin powder

  • Salt to taste

Directions

  • Marinate paneer with curd, spices, lemon juice, oil, and salt for 15 minutes.
  • Grill or shallow-fry paneer until golden. Keep aside.
  • Heat butter in a pan, sauté onions till soft.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and cook till fragrant.
  • Add tomato puree, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt.
  • Cook till oil separates.
  • Add cream and grilled paneer.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes and serve hot with naan or roti.
