Ingredients
- For Pakora Batter
1 cup gram flour (besan)
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
¼ tsp baking soda
Salt to taste
Water as needed
- For Pakoras
200 g paneer (cut into slices or cubes)
Oil for deep frying
Chaat masala (for sprinkling)
Directions
- Prepare Batter: In a bowl, mix besan, turmeric, chilli powder, ajwain, baking soda, and salt. Add water gradually to make a smooth, thick batter.
- Heat Oil: Heat oil in a deep pan on medium flame.
- Coat Paneer: Dip paneer pieces into the batter, coating them evenly.
- Fry Pakoras: Carefully drop coated paneer into hot oil. Fry until golden and crisp, turning occasionally.
- Drain & Season: Remove pakoras and drain on paper towel. Sprinkle chaat masala on top.
- Serve Hot: Serve immediately with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
