Paneer Butter Masala is a creamy and flavorful North Indian curry made with paneer cubes simmered in a rich tomato-based gravy.

Ingredients

  • 250g paneer, cubed

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 2 medium onions, chopped

  • 3 medium tomatoes, chopped

  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 2 green chillies (optional)

  • 1 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • ½ cup fresh cream

  • 1 tsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Directions

  • Heat the oil and 1 tbsp butter in a pan. Add onions and sauté until golden.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies. Cook for 1 minute.
  • Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
  • Add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Blend the mixture to a smooth paste and return to the pan.
  • Add paneer cubes, garam masala, and kasuri methi. Stir gently.
  • Add cream and remaining butter. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve hot with naan or rice.
