Ingredients
½ cup moong dal (split yellow lentils)
1½ cups bottle gourd (lauki, chopped)
1 tsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp ginger (grated)
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
2 cups water
1 tbsp lemon juice
Fresh coriander (for garnish)
Directions
- Cook Dal & Lauki: In a pot, add moong dal, lauki, turmeric, salt, and water. Cook until soft.
- Prepare Tempering: Heat oil, add cumin seeds and ginger, sauté until aromatic.
- Combine: Add tempering to the cooked dal mixture.
- Simmer: Cook for 3–4 minutes to blend flavors.
- Serve: Add lemon juice, garnish with coriander, and serve warm.
