Chickpeas cooked in a tangy and spicy tomato-onion masala. A vegan and protein-rich North Indian staple.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chickpeas (soaked overnight)

  • 1 onion, 2 tomatoes (pureed)

  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste

  • 1 tsp chana masala

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric, chilli powder

  • Salt, oil, coriander

Directions

  • Pressure cook chickpeas.
  • Sauté onion, garlic, tomato puree, and spices.
  • Add chickpeas and cook 10–15 mins.
  • Serve with rice or roti.
