Ingredients
1 cup gram flour (besan)
½ cup water (adjust consistency)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
2 tbsp carrot (finely grated)
1 green chilli (finely chopped, optional)
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chilli powder (optional)
Salt to taste
1 tsp oil (for batter)
4–6 bread slices
Oil or butter for shallow frying
Fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
Directions
- Prepare Batter: In a bowl, mix besan, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt, and water to make a smooth batter.
- Add Vegetables: Add onion, carrot, green chilli, oil, and coriander. Mix well.
- Heat Pan: Heat a non-stick pan or tawa and grease lightly with oil or butter.
- Coat Bread: Dip each bread slice into the besan batter, coating both sides evenly.
- Toast: Place coated bread on the pan and cook on medium flame until golden on one side.
- Flip & Cook: Flip and cook the other side until crisp and fully cooked.
- Serve Hot: Serve immediately with green chutney or tomato ketchup.

- Tips:
Cut toast into sticks for kids
Add cheese on top for a cheesy version
Use whole wheat or multigrain bread for a healthier option
