Soft whole-wheat parathas stuffed with mildly spiced mashed potatoes—comforting, filling, and perfect for a family breakfast.

Ingredients

  • For Dough
  • 1½ cups whole wheat flour

  • Water as needed

  • Salt to taste

  • For Filling
  • 2 medium potatoes (boiled & mashed)

  • 1 tbsp onion (finely chopped, optional)

  • ½ tsp cumin powder

  • ¼ tsp red chilli powder (optional / mild)

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander (chopped)

  • For Cooking
  • Ghee or oil as needed

Directions

  • Prepare Dough: Mix wheat flour and salt. Add water and knead into a soft dough. Rest for 10 minutes.
  • Prepare Filling: In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, onion, cumin powder, chilli powder, salt, and coriander.
  • Stuff Paratha: Divide dough into balls. Flatten, add filling, seal, and roll gently.
  • Cook: Heat tawa and cook paratha on medium flame. Apply ghee/oil on both sides.
  • Flip & Cook: Cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides.
  • Serve Hot: Serve with curd, butter, or mild pickle.
