Ingredients
1 cup yellow moong dal (soaked 4–5 hours)
1 green chilli (optional)
1-inch ginger
½ tsp cumin seeds
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Water (as needed for batter)
1 small onion (finely chopped, optional)
2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)
Oil for cooking
Directions
- Prepare Batter: Drain soaked moong dal and grind with green chili, ginger, cumin seeds, turmeric, salt, and water into a smooth batter.
- Add Toppings: Mix chopped onion and coriander into the batter.
- Heat Tawa: Heat a non-stick tawa and grease lightly with oil.
- Make Chilla: Pour a ladle of batter and spread gently into a circle.
- Cook: Drizzle oil around edges and cook on medium flame until golden.
- Flip & Cook: Flip and cook the other side until fully cooked.
- Serve Hot: Serve with green chutney, curd, or ketchup.
