A fiery and flavorful South Indian chicken curry made with freshly ground spices and coconut, representing the essence of Tamil Nadu cuisine.

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken (cut pieces)

  • 2 onions (finely chopped)

  • 2 tomatoes (chopped)

  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 cup grated coconut

  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds, 5–6 dried red chillies, 1 tsp black peppercorns

  • 2 tbsp oil, salt to taste

Directions

  • Dry roast coconut, fennel, chillies, and peppercorns. Grind into a paste.
  • Heat oil, sauté onions and ginger-garlic paste till golden.
  • Add tomatoes, cook until mushy.
  • Add chicken, salt, and masala paste. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked and the gravy has thickened.
  • Garnish with curry leaves and serve hot with parotta or rice.
